Pittsfield District Court presiding First Justice is the Honorable William A. Rota. Arraignments, pretrial conferences, motion hearings, violation of probation hearings, are heard throughout the week. Each month the court designates a week to hear jury trials. During that week the Court usually has a second judge to hear the jury trials.
The Clerk-Magistrate is Christopher N. Speranzo. He and his staff preside over all probable cause/show cause hearings. The show cause hearings are heard throughout the week.
The Berkshire County district attorney also has an office on the first floor of the Pittsfield District Court. There is usually two assistant district attorney assigned to the Pittsfield District Court and victim witness advocate.
The Chief Probation Officer, Matthew Stracuzzi, is also located on the main floor and the staffed by over five different probation officers.
